Daisha grew up in Gig Harbor, earned her Associate Degree in Art and Science from Tacoma Community College, and took off to travel. After scuba diving in meltwater from the Langjöll Glacier in Iceland, kayaking among porpoises in the Norwegian fjords, and spending 23 hours on a bus ride across Nepal to pick and harvest fresh tea leaves on an organic farm in Phikkal, she ended up in Goa, India. Here she studied Ashtanga yoga under Yogi Lalit Kumar and spent her days in meditation and complete silence with her peers.
Daisha incorporates lessons from that training and her own Svadhaya, or self-study, into her daily practice and classes. Blending western and traditional aspects of Ashtanga yoga, she is excited to continue her journey as a student and a teacher at Zum.
