Born and raised in Redmond, Washington, Marina began dancing with the Pacific Northwest Ballet School at the age of 8, and went on to pursue training in competitive ballroom dancing, hip hop and dance fitness. During her 4 years at Claremont McKenna College, she continued dancing as a member of the college ballroom dance team and the 5C Dance Company. While earning her degree in Economics-Accounting, she instructed her fellow students and faculty in the fine points dance fitness; and that love of dance continues today in Seattle. As a member of Drop Squad, a hip hop crew based in Seattle, Marina has performed in several local art pieces and professional productions.
My emphasis is on making dance approachable, positive, and judgement-free; providing excellent cross-training for all athletic levels; expanding movement vocabularies to increase adaptiveness to, and capacity for, motion; and sparking creativity in the fusion of music and movement.
